Oi!
General conference was great, and hearing about the Tucson temple and the missionaries of age19 for girls and 18 for boys was way exciting! I could have left way before I did. Pretty exciting for the girls who don't go because of the age 21. Way smart! It'll be way easier for us guys to come home and marry returned missionaries already founded super hard in the faith. Hurrah! And its crazy AZ will have 6 temples soon! Way cool.
It's funny how exciting it is for missionaries when it's time for conference. All the elders in our district met here in Palmares (the area of our district) to watch conference at the church. Sadly hardly any members were there Saturday. In between sessions we managed to contact a drunk guy and have him watch the second session with us. He ended up being cool. We all slept in our district leader's house, which was way fun! Like a big righteous sleep over. Elder Caval cut everyone's hair and we managed to finally fall asleep later than was probably usual, which ended up being horrible because we woke up at 4:30 to watch the priesthood session at 6, and of course we were the only ones that watched it. Sunday was elections here and everyone was busy and there were crazy parties in the streets all day and night. We were all super tired during and after the priesthood session. I ended up having to stand up the whole session so I wouldn't fall asleep and afterwards we all slept in the sacrament room until the next session was ready to start. The times are all weird here compared to the sessions in the US. Luckily more people in the stake ended up coming for the Sunday morning session.
One thing I've learned on the mission is that truth is a light that once learned makes a lot of other things clear about life and reality. On a mission so many truths are recognized and learned through the spirit and so many things are made clear. That's probably why all of the sudden general conference is something completely different than it was before. A prophet is on the earth and only he receives revelation from God for the entire world. Way cool.
This week was pretty normal but for sure we have 3 baptisms marked for the next 2 weeks. We have Karol, Isabel and Jr. Please pray for them if you can, they need prayers. Jr. and his wife are starting a business and just bought the office so we had the opportunity to bless the office and will baptize Jr. way soon. His wife is already a member.
Things are going great here in Sao Jose and its getting super super hot. Oh my!
