Hey pi opáh and every other Brazilian way of saying hi,
First off exactly one third of my mission is over! My how time flies!!! But hey, who's counting? I have to admit that this week was a bixo (animal). I wanted to die every night and was grateful that our p-day arrived. Like always there was a lot of ups and downs, left turns and right turns, and at every corner a blessing after a fall. I have a lot to say but need to make it quick because the time is already spent. This week we received a bunch of new investigators and taught a lot of lessons. Saturday we had the opportunity of going to the temple with our branch which was a great experience but a long, long ride squished in the front seat of the valks van with Elder Caval and the driver.
Because of the campaigning here, lots of members are missing church and don't have a ton of time to help out with the work. Even our president of the branch missed out on Sunday because of work. But church still went well and I had the opportunity of teaching the young women and men about the standards in our church. Two of the young women were investigators and plan on being baptized soon. It's amazing how some of these people are so prepared by the lord to receive our message and make covenants with their Father. I could go on and on about the work but I'll touch more on it next week because of a lack of time.
This week a couple of crazy things happened. The woman I baptized was run over by a bus (literally underneath the bus) but ended up only with a scratch on her arm….crazy crazy! She is super firm in the faith and the Lord definitely has had a protecting hand in her life. This Wednesday I was feeling really strange and suffering the exact symptoms that come before you get Dengue fever, a horrible disease that lasts about a week (it is caused by a mosquito bite and causes nausea, vomiting and a rash). We had heard that you are able to avoid it the night before by taking Tylenol and drinking a lot of water so I did that and sure enough after a lot of prayer, I felt fine the next morning.
Ok, well my companion is going crazy. I need to leave so I will write more next week!
Tchau tchau!!
Com amor,
Elder LeSueur
