Wow its sounds like everyone had a great week in the fam, except for Mitt´s loss which was a huge let down, but everything has a purpose. That's one lesson that is learned on the mission. Just when you think what you want to happen will happen...it doesn't, and what God wants to happen, happens. Trusting in the Lord can be hard at times, but of course He knows what is best for us.
I liked what Dad sent me. He said ---- "One young girl we were told about put it in perspective. She said the only president she needs is President Monson! The country will struggle big-time, but the Gospel will continue to spread throughout the earth until His work is done. Of course this is surely one reason the missionary age has decreased to provide more missionaries to handle the work out there. We received good instruction from Jeffrey Holland today in conference about how we need to help the missionaries in our areas more than ever!"
Unfortunately the organization of US government isn't perfect, but luckily the organization of God is perfect and that, without a doubt, is something we can find joy in.
I'm glad to hear Tara and Trevin had good birthdays! It's also crazy that the holiday season is coming up and it's cold some places in the world! It is so warm here. This week we heard a man talking about how Santa Clause is evil because he makes kids stop believing in Christ, but I'll save that theory for another day (ha ha). This week was great great great! We worked like crazy, in fact two days ago when we got home I undressed and laid paralyzed on the bed until I woke up the next morning.
We got Valdir, Maria Gorette, Maria Clara, Mateus, and Davi prepared to get baptized on Sunday which was crazy, but it happened! They got baptized! Three of the eight investigators fell through but we'll keep working on them. One of them that fell through is a 16-year-old girl that is way special, but her life is pretty sad. She was married at age 12 and divorced at 13. Her mom pretty much lives a ways away in Recife, so she lives alone with her little sister. She has a boyfriend who lives with her on the weekends so that's also pretty complicated. Getting married at 14 or 15 is pretty normal here.
But the baptisms that took place on Sunday were so great. It was probably the best day I have had on the mission yet. It was branch conference Sunday, so the district president came to talk. We managed to get 50 people to church and that was huge. Normally we have had 12 to 20 at church so 50 was really exciting and 8 of them were investigators. After the meeting we had the baptisms which of course was awesome! Also Maria who got baptized brought her niece. After church her niece told her that this is the true church and no one could stopped her from getting baptized, so that was cool to hear.
This week we also have been working a lot with the leadership in our branch and home/visiting teaching. The members really are getting exciting to help out a lot more and help this branch become a ward. We are also trying to clear up the ward list to figure out who we need to visit, who moved, who died etc. Technically we have 200 members that must have been baptized a long long time ago. Doing all the work for this branch is an experience that I am super lucky to have.
This week I had the chance to eat two pig ears which was weird. They still had the hair on them. The next lesson that we had that day, the man we were teaching kept arguing that Jesus Christ was ugly. We tried to tell him that whether he was or wasn't, that didn't affect our salvation, but he wouldn't give in. Pretty ridiculous, some people.
It's great being here with Elder Régio. We are working like crazy and keeping busy with the Branch of São José.

PS- Wow, there wont be any girls left when the guys get home since they are all going on missions! Crazy stuff!
