Thanks Mom and Dad for the updates about the week and all that's going on in the US, and that's right its my birthday soon! Ill probably forget on Sunday (ha ha). All the women in the relief society are excited to bake a cake for me though so that'll make me feel loved! 20 years I'll have. Wow, time flies!

We have been talking a lot about the war that started between Israel and Egypt and are sure it will end with Christ sending a huge atomic beam of lighting on the enemy side.... veremos (we will see).
Lets see what happened this week? Nothing extremely exciting. We taught and walked and did the normal stuff missionaries do and managed to find a bunch of new investigators. English class was interesting. For some reason English class is always just a bunch of 16-year-old girls laughing and giggling. Sao Jose is a crazy place.

As for Sunday we managed to get quite a few members to church and 4 investigators, but still had a lot of people missing that should have been there. We passed by Valdir's place after church because he was sick and he couldn't make it to sacrament meeting. It turns out that he had run out of food and money and had passed 3 days without eating anything. Luckily, we called for help and the members in the branch were willing and ready to help with what he needed. Going hungry here is not rare. One member will help another eat lunch when at the same time the member giving doesn't have money and has just about run out of food also. Work here in Sao Jose is hard to find and the people here need a lot of help, and luckily the church has the resources to help.

This last weekend was a holiday here (they have a holiday almost every week!) so a ton of people were here visiting the beach. Friday the energy (electricity) went out at around 9 at night and didn't come back on until the next day around 10. Without a fan it's super hot. Luckily the breeze from the beach is pretty nice and with all the windows and doors open its not too bad. The lights are always going out here (ha ha). Oh, also Sunday was the confirmation of Maria Gorette and she also gave a 10-minute talk! Hurrah for her!

Not a ton to say other than things are going well and we are working. The Lord is blessing us and I am learning a ton. Thank goodness for the eternal progression of God's children! Hurrah for Israel!!! Especially since she's at war!
