I hope most of the pictures and videos made sense and you have a better picture of where I’m at. Some places here are poor, but then again we are next to a huge city, so we’ve got a little bit of everything here.
First off, I’m really excited for the Calendar that mom sent with important dates because Nan had a birthday that I didn’t know about! What!? Anyway, this week went great because we have been getting a lot of referrals and finding new people to teach. I’m sorry to say that pretty much all of our investigators we have been teaching the last 2 transfers really don’t want what we have which is super sad, but hopefully like Breck and Dad said some other missionaries will come by some day and it will click for these people. We are still working on Wilton and he is slowly gaining a stronger and stronger testimony. He is so ready but there are just a couple things he doesn’t believe yet that are important for the interview. Like I said, referrals have been really important lately and the few new people we have taught really seem interested so once we get a couple more lessons in with them I’ll let you know more about them, because after the first visit it’s pretty hard to tell what’s going to come of the person. Once you find out if they are reading and praying is when you know if the person really wants to find out.
This next week we have an interview with the President and we are a little scared because we know he is going to get on us just for not having baptisms, but we’ve been working hard and things are improving..soo....we’ll see what happens. Transfers are at the end of this week, I’ll stay or go, or elder Sacilotto (sassy-lo-toe) will stay or go, or we will both stay...or we will both go.....so really we have no idea what to expect but I’m preparing to stay here and receive an elder that’s been out about 7 months because that’s what the other elders are thinking is going to happen. If baptisms were the only reason we were here, I would probably be disappointed to stay, but its not, so I’d be happy to stay here and keep helping the ward and people in this area.
We are still in the same house, you can still picture where I am. It’s been raining a ton and today I wrote a bunch of letters and they all got wet next to the window but they should dry out fine :) Yesterday all of Brazil did not have church and instead watched the Temple dedication of the Manaus Temple. Manaus is the Amazon of Brazil and is super hot. Nan’s sister went there on her mission so she can tell you, but it was great to watch President Uchtdorf do the ceremony and listen to him in English and his interpreter in Portuguese. Man I think it would kill me if i didn’t understand the prophet and the apostles speak. We are so lucky to speak English! But that was really cool to see. Everything is still going great here. The language is improving and I’m in Brazil what’s more cool than that! oh maybe Russia... (haha)
Love you all!
