leandro and guuilherme progressing, mission christmas conference (12-16-13)

Dear Family,

It's good to hear everyone is great and the Christmas party looked way too fun! Breck sent me a video that was pretty amusing, watching Shel and Austin eat Oreos off their faces! I heard that Austin was the random game pro, nice Austin! Also happy birthday Dad. Sorry I didn't say anything last week but hope you had a great b-day and many more to come! :)

This week was great we did a lot of contacts for lack of people to teach. There were a couple hard days where everyone was being a jerk and we weren't able to teach without getting mean looks and few harsh words. With some we would get desperate to teach and stop asking them if they'd like to hear a message about Jesus Christ and just start teaching them. A lot of people sit in front of their houses with there buds from like 5 to 10 PM, so within that time we get in a lot of street lessons. On the mission you meet a lot of unpleasant people, but every once in awhile God sends someone totally elect to make all the unpleasants worth it.

This week we have been teaching Leandro still who has gone to church 2 times now and loves it, but he doesn't want to pray to know if the church is true, he wants to study to know...and we all know how that ends up. But he's great and even brought his daughter to church last Sunday. Also English class on Saturdays has really been fruitful. We had a little chart for everyone to fill in there names, addresses and numbers and at the end of the chart we wrote "I would like to hear more about the church" then you could circle yes or no. Everyone circled yes! woot woot! And one of the ladies even showed up to church Sunday, so we'll go back to teach her. We've got a ton of people to teach now, but they are all kind of longer term and will take a little while to baptize. I have that feeling that I'll help find all these people and then leave...either way I'll be happy.

Oh, a kid named Guuilherme called us out on the street a few days ago (I guess a couple other elders taught him a little while back) and he said he'd go to church if we picked him up. So we did and he went. It was stake conference on Sunday and he was amazed by how many beautiful young women are in Christ's true church. We watched a baptism afterwards at the stake center with him, invited him to be baptized and he accepted. So we'll teach him all this week and get him ready for Sunday. Pray for him please!! Looking back now I'm seeing how blessed we've been in our area and zone. I love this work!

Also this last week we had the Mission Christmas Conference and I got to see some of my best buds, Erickson, Hatch and Weight!!! Man, elder weight is the man! We talked for forever and it was super sad saying bye because that was the last time I'll see him on the mish. We had wished we'd hung out more before the mish, but there will be more times afterwards.

Oh and a shout out to the Lewis's who sent some great American food for me and a letter and a couple pics of Jennie on her mish. There is a super red neck one of her being hugged by a huge red man that looks like a shaved big foot. It's a totally awesome picture.

Well this week was great, tiring but great. Wednesday I'll get to go to the temple for the last time.. woot! Elder Erickson will be there too, and before that we're going to a place called Mercado São José (Saint Jhon Market) where they sell a bunch of cool Brazilian stuff that I'll get to bring home (by the way, will a hammock fit down stairs in my room? If not, it's cool, I'll put it in the living room ;)

Love you all and have a great week!!!!!!! Cheiro!!! (smell)
