anderson in horrible car accident but protected (11-4-13)

Dear Family,

Another week here in Paulista! This week was kind of crazy First off it was Halloween and I wish I could say I had the best Halloween ever, but it was pretty normal. We had a division and I was in a place called Ouro Preto (black gold) with Elder Brandon from Texas (his name used to be Elder Bostick, but it got changed when he got here because its similar to the word crap in Portuguese). We had kind of a Halloween experience. We went to go talk to a family who had left the church and was attending a spiritualist church. There was a super weird creepy feeling in the house and we tried to leave quickly, but the lady kept serving us crackers with hot milk. She kept giving us crackers and I kept throwing them in my backpáck when she wasn’t looking because I couldn’t eat all she was giving us.
Anyway, I was definitely missing Halloween in the US thinking about it that night.

This week we had 2 baptisms marked, Caio and Kelvin, but the morning of the baptism at 12, their mom called and said that they had to go to their aunts house at 5 in the morning, sooo the baptism was moved to the next Sunday. Also we have a boy named Gleibson marked for this Sunday so Sunday we should have 3 baptisms.  We´ll see what happens because you never know if the baptisms here will really happen until after the baptism happens. I’ve even seen people decide they don’t want to get baptized after they´ve entered the water because they are afraid of the water. There´s a lot of those here...weird.

Anderson suffered a horrible car accident on Saturday. He had to dodge a married couple walking in the middle of the road. It was raining so the road was wet and he flipped the car a couple times. Luckily "something" pushed his seat back and even though the top of the car was completely smashed in he came out with a little scratch on his elbow. We went to go visit him yesterday and he is super grateful that God protected him and is super excited to get married here at the end of the month to finally get baptized. We are working with his wife too and she will go to church this next Sunday and I have no doubt that here soon she´ll also be baptized :)

Quick shout out to Trevin and Tara HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!

Not to complain, but......we have been out of water for 5 days and hope it comes back today. There´s a pipe broke somewhere and nobody has been sent to fix it.....yeah, I’m about ready to go there and fix it myself.

Sorry the email will be a little shorter this week but overall this week was great. The baptisms didn’t happen but this next Sunday will be great!! :)

Love you all and have a great week!!!

Elder LeSueur
