Hey Mom and Dad,
Thanks a bunch for the emails. This week will be shorter because not too much happened, It was a pretty normal week. One of our goals this week was to find new investigators because we were about ready to kick a lot of people that were getting super moly and just didn’t want to progress. So we started doing a bunch of contacts which either go good or bad and I’m sorry to say that this week was not the week to contact. Nobody wanted to talk to us and getting denied was getting way old. We also happened to be contacting while the new pope was getting elected (elected by the Catholics, why doesn’t God have anything to do with the election of the new pope, and why did the last Pope resign in the first place?) Anyway, people thought that saying that they were watching the pope election was a good reason to not want to talk.
Luckily we’ve got some awesome members here who are great and give references, so we’ve found a couple new ones but not as many as we’d like. We have been visiting Fernanda and her family literally every day because they have been needing it. We started teaching her two sons and they seem to like us a lot, but because of stuff they found on the internet they are kind of closed. Satan is working super hard with this family, so we’ve got to work even harder. The beginning of this week I was getting super frustrated with Fernanda and felt pretty hopeless because they weren’t really progressing and I just didn’t feel good while trying to teach her and her family. She has had a lot of problems with everything mainly being her husband and they have been planning to separate for a long time. But Friday night we went back and she told us they her and her husband had "made peace" and all was good with them, which was huge huge huge! So that was great and Sunday she went to church (yesterday) and a lot of things that were said and done there had really touched her personally and she finally has a testimony not only about God, but about the true church on earth, hallelujah! There’s been a lot of emotions with her and she has broken new ground in her life figuring herself out and getting to know her Father in Heaven personally. Also her daughter of 11 years, Geovana is way awesome and already has said that the Church of Jesus Christ is "her church". Also you want to know how her relationship turned on a dime with her husband...she made dinner for him, which she hasn’t done in a long long long time. Serving her husband....why didn’t I think of that. She said that she felt something telling her to do something nice for her husband...simple but nice. She did and because of that one small act, miracles are happening with that family and in that house. Service is crazy stuff.
Also we've got Mayra who will be baptized when her grandma gets home from Sao Paulo to watch and Ianara who is waiting for her husband to be able to baptize her which should be this week.. Also there’s a bunch of other people who have been prepared by God and it’s just up to us to teach them and bring them to church. Sometimes it’s hard to get a hold of people here because everyone works so much. Anyways this next week will be great, and hopefully start to finally cool down because it’s been pretty hot here.
