Hey Mom and Dad,
Thanks so much for the emails. It’s great to know how you all are doing, with the snow, Dad’s hip replacement, and all the other fun stuff that’s going on there! Seeing all the pictures reminds me how much I miss you all! But miracles are happening here. Oh and happy birthday to Breck tomorrow on the 26th!!! Dang he’s getting old!! I don’t even remember how old he´ll be 33? 32? 31? Crazy but I still feel like he´s my age when we get talking (haha).
This week was super hard. We walked a TON and the bottoms of my feet have been hurting each night. I’ve been so tired. We almost had a miracle baptism happen here on Sunday. We talked again to that girl (Raineli) who visited our church because she wanted a church that didn’t yell. Her and her family loved us and we scheduled her baptism for Sunday and her little sister’s baptism in a couple weeks. Everything was ready and everyone knew it would be right after church around 12:30...but, she didn’t come to church..why? We found out that at 8 am someone from another church came and picked her up and she, thinking it was our church, went with whoever it was and all her little brothers and sisters (who love us because we show them magic tricks and teach them English, there are 3 of them from 4 to 7 years old :) So she was tricked and literally the devil stole a baptism from the elders...but not really because we´ll have her baptism this next Sunday. But it was super frustrating because we walked around the world trying to find her on Sunday and never did, and only 1 out of our 20 investigators came to church. But Thursday we talked to Adriana and JR. They are the family that has been having a lot of struggles and after we talked to them I realized how strong the prayers from back home are that you all are saying for us. JR had a huge problem with drinking, smoking, and drugs. He is 25 and super smart and has a great family that he was wasting away. The elders have been visiting him for a long time now (3 months) and he hasn’t been able to control his habits. It turns out that he has been reading the prophets manual for this year and read the whole thing in a week. Because of that book, he says that he stopped smoking, drinking, doing drugs and is super ready and excited to be baptized!!! Oh what joy! I got super happy when I heard that and am so amazed at how he has practically memorized the whole life of that prophet. Because of the example the prophets show JR has changed his life and ready to become a super firm member of the church. Because of all this we went to another city with them (JR and Adriana) this morning at 6 to the Cartorio, the place where people do the paper work to get married, and this Thursday they will officially be married and that same day we are baptizing them!!!! Woooo! It was so great this morning going with them to make that last step before the baptism. They have both been working so hard to get to this point (especially Adriana, who stop smoking awhile back and started going to church and until this week has been having huge problems with JR and his drinking, smoking, and doing drugs). They all seemed so happy today and even happier to know that they will be baptized this week. The spirit truly has been working with us and prayers have been answered. Thank you for your faith and prayers back home!
We have been working a lot lately and things have been hard, but after trials pass, it’s easy to see the blessings. A lot of other stuff happened too this week but nothing extremely interesting. We’ve found a couple new people to teach that may have potential but we’ll see this next week. We have been doing ward activities each Wednesday to help the ward get closer and so that our investigators can get to know the members. We play volleyball, Uno, and then have a movie for the older people which has been way cool for the ward.
Saturday night we were walking home after a long day and we ran into my ZL from my last area (which was a month ago) with his family! He had already been released and everything but it was such a shock! Mainly because I had just been doing divisions with him a month back, so that was cool to see him and his family.
Well it was a crazy week and I’m hoping this next week goes a little better. Overall, all is well!!! Have a great week and thanks for the prayers.
Love you all!!!
Com amor,
Elder LeSueur.
