lucineide baptism, singing at wedding and surprise baptism 5-20-13

Hey!!!

Thanks a ton for the pictures and the update. It sounds like this last week was a blast. As for us here, it was a pretty awesome week and hard week. Both of us were sick everyday but didn't have time to be sick so we took medicine and stuck it out. It paid off and the Lord blessed us for that because Thursday (Mom and Dad's anniversary) was the baptism of Lucineide, which was great! Her baptism and membership in the church will really help her family. Her husband doesn't do anything but work and drink.

Also, President Lanius came to our zone on Saturday and gave us some good training. Then Saturday night we, along the elders from my last area, and the assistants who came with President Lanius from Recife, went to a wedding of a member in the ward because my companion and I were invited to sing at the beginning and end. It was pretty awesome. The wedding was at a really legit place and there were a lot of nonmembers. The bishop did the ceremony so he invited us to sing. Elder Siles, who took my spot in my last area, played the violin for the last song as we sang "Com Amor No Lar" (Love At Home). It went well and was a different experience than I've had on the mission up to this point.

Sunday was great because we had a bunch of investigators at stake conference and two surprise baptisms! The 2nd councilor to the stake president told us during his talk in the meeting that his parents ...or maybe parents-in-law want to be baptized this Sunday, and of course its the missionaries job to teach them all they need to know and do their interviews. So we are super excited to have their baptismal service this Sunday morning:)

We also have been teaching two older people, one named Edite who is around her 80's and her friend José who is 102!!! They went to church Sunday and are super excited to have found the true church. They will be baptized this Sunday also. The Lord is blessing us here and we couldn't be more happy :)

Other than that, all the rest is pretty normal, teaching, walking and walking more. This ward I'm in now is so awesome. Everyone already has learned my name when the other wards took about 3 months. LeSueur is hard for people to say in the United States AND in Brazil ;)
