Dear Family,
I’ll just go straight into this week which was pretty crazy. First off, the new apartment is taking awhile to get them to turn the energy on so we tried to stay there without energy for a couple days and it just wasn’t going to work, so all of our stuff is in our new home but without energy there is no way to live for over a couple days. Food, clothes, fans to keep you cool, cooking, ect...so we went back to our old apartment where we are staying until there is energy. It’s crazy because all you have to do to turn on the energy is flip a switch. I’m about ready to go there and flip it myself (ha). But it’s all good. The only thing is, is that one new area in our zone opened. It is called Prazeres (Pleasures) and the 2 new elders are Americans and living in our old house, which we are living in until we get energy.
I finally got to see Elder McKay Weight (for those that don't he is my brother-in-law Brigham's younger brother). He served in the states for about six months waiting for his VISA and arrived here in Recife 2-3 months ago. He seemed super happy and way old, like super old and tall. It's been a long time since I've seen him. He and his companion are baptizing a ton of people!
The Brazilian elder that is with us in our apartment is training an American that is from Indiana and he was just serving in the Tempe Mission (way cool) waiting for his VISA. So we have 5 Americans living in the same house. It is super insane!
This week the work was great. We have Wiliana who is 19 and will be getting baptized on Saturday with her friend Myrella. Also, four of young men from that large group of guys that we found on the street and invited to play soccer last week (Gabriel 18, Kyle 15, Alan 15, and Adriano 27) are all way stoked to be baptized. They really like us a lot. On the last lesson we took Sprite to their house and they bought sandwiches and we all ate and watched the restoration video.
Also, Daniel, the young man we have been working with, went to conference and loved it and is super excited to be baptized. That baptism should also most likely happen this Saturday or Sunday. The experience we have had teaching and talking to him has been one of a kind and super special. What a way awesome young man he is. We are being super blessed and will have to run around a lot this week to make sure all goes well and smooth for these people.
General Conference was of course awesome! I don’t even need to say anymore. The speakers are so inspired and our investigators were taught so well. President Uchtdorf gave the perfect “introduction to the church” talk! Everything that was said was way cool.
One of the new elders here is named Elder Morre, He’s from Washington and is teaching me French ( I gotta learn the family language of the LeSueur’s from the Jersey Islands) so that’s something that’s keeping me a little busy on p-days.
I know there is a ton I’m forgetting to say but I will save it for January when I get home ;)
Love you all have a great week!
With all the love and amor in the mundo,
ELDER LESUEUR
