Hey Family!!!!
First off Iv’e got to comment about the pictures Dad sent. What the heck....sooo cool! Especially the picture of the black hobo.... probably in Alabama. We have got a lot of those here except they are normally drunk too and try to talk and dance with you. But I’m so jealous of all the cool places that Dad and Mel went. I’ll bet that was the best trip ever and Dad looks like a pro with his Canon 60D. Way to go Dad! Also a shout out to Allie and Nan for the birthdays. Parabéns para vocês!! Congrats!
As for us here in Garanhuns things are good. We didn’t have a baptism but we have a few marked for this week. It’s been raining a ton and Elder Ribeiro and I both lost our umbrellas. Luckily I have the rain coat but with the rain we had this week the only way to keep dry would have been to stay inside, but of course that’s not an option so we were just super wet the last few days. Today has cleared up though so all should be well. In Recife the missionaries had to walk around with water up to their knees so we got pretty lucky here in Garanhuns.
We had an activity this week that we took a couple of investigators to. We thought the activity would be a nice game of soccer and volleyball but it ended up just being volleyball and everyone played super well (out of nowhere). Anyways, what happened is that I ended up playing and then was cursed afterwards. I became so sore that I could not walk right the whole rest of the week. I limped like a retarded person the whole week and it was horrible. We have been working out and running in the mornings but that hasn’t helped.
Yesterday we ate a bad lunch (something was wrong with the spaghetti) and my stomach was hurting a little, but my comp got the worst of it and all last night (literally the whole night) my comp was throwing up. He became so weak from throwing up all night that his whole body became sore and today he can barely move his body. His whole body is killing him and he is on some super meds right now that look almost illegal...but he is big and strong and will tuff it out.
As for our investigators, we’re teaching a bunch of people but there are a couple special ones that I want to mention. First off is Romildo who is 18 and just an awesome guy. He received an answer this week of the Book of Mormon. He had been reading it and praying to God to receive an answer and one day this last week he went to do his morning prayer and he always puts his hand on his bible when he prays. Well he accidentally put his hand on the Book of Mormon and felt something super warm and good enter into his body. He opened his eyes and in that moment realized that it was the Book of Mormon. He said he realized that the BOM really is true and of God and God had answered his prayers.
Also we are teaching Luciana and her son Lucas. They both are great and doing their best to find the true church, which means they are visiting all the churches and asking everyone about every church and looking all over the internet to learn about the churches (aka the Church of the Mormons).....great! We have been helping her to understand the church and that people lie when they say that the Americans are spies from the US and that we worship the devil in the church. This week Lucianna had a dream that Elder Ribeiro and I were standing in an unknown place next to a man covered in white. Her and her son Lucas were a ways in front running towards us but something was pulling them back. We told her that she didn’t have to be Joseph to interpret her dream. What an answer! And she has had a bunch of other answers also about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon but is having trouble opening her heart to the things we have to say. But she will come through. I know we and God are doing our part to help her.
All is well here in Garanhuns and I love you all........... have a great week!!
Elder LeSueur
