Thanks dad for the email! and sorry I didn’t write yesterday. We had transfers and we got back pretty late last night. I am sorry to say that Elder L. Ribeiro is gone. But luckily we ended off on a great week with the baptisms of Mateus, Tainá, Emily, Luana, and Luana´s mom Leidijane. It was a week of miracles and a lot of rain.
Mateus (Mathew) is 18 and we have been teaching him and his mom the last couple months. He finally decided to be baptized and his mom, we should also be baptizing pretty soon. He is kind of a quiet guy but knows what he wants and will be a great young man in the church.
Also, Leidijane and her daughter have been hearing the lessons the last 3 months and both unexpectedly decided to be baptized against the will of her husband. But don’t worry, we´ll get him in the water too someday.
Also we found a less active lady on the street a few weeks ago and started teaching her nieces that live with her and they were both baptized yesterday too (Tainá (12) and Emily (9). They are great girls but also pretty crazy. They planned behind our backs to swim in the baptismal font after the baptism, and it worked. After I baptized Emily, I went to the bathroom to change. Out of nowhere, I heard a bunch of splashing and yelling and went out to see what happened. Tainá, Emily and their other little sister all jumped back into the font to swim around!!! NO!!!! My companion was kind of upset and gave them a talking to afterward (haha), It’s good they are in the church but they´ll have a few things to learn (haha). It was a once in life time experience ;) As for all the baptisms they were great and the spirit was super strong and there were a lot of members there to support the new converts.
Sunday night we got the call about the transfers and were pretty sad that Elder Ribeiro had to go. We were also upset that we wouldn’t be able to sleep in order to pack Ribeiro´s stuff up to get to the bus station by 2 am. All yesterday was spent traveling from metro to bus and from busses to other buses but we finally made it there and back with my new companion Elder W. Ferreira! He has never been an LZ but baptizes like Peter! He seems like an awesome guy (ill send pictures next week) but this transfer will be great and we are way stoked to be here in Garanhuns, the best area in this mission and in the best mission in the world!
I’ll have a little more time to write next week because my comp will send the numbers, but if you have any questions, let me know and I’ll be happy to answer :
Love you all and have a great week!!!
Tchau tchau,
Com amor,
Elder LeSueur
